A Day in the body of Cait Byrnes

Cait Byrnes

Cait has always been interested in health and wellness, but she claims she wasn’t always healthy. Check out what she has to say about her day now.
Five years ago I made a commitment to myself to figure out what foods made me feel best, what lifestyle habits needed to change, and how to shift my mindset to a more positive, uplifting one.
And now, I help other women do the same! I’m a Holistic Health and Wellness Coach (and a burlesque performer!) who works with women dealing with fatigue, exhaustion and extreme burn-out to help them feel vibrant and excited about life through nutritional education, emotional support, and daily acts of radical self-care.

A Day in the body of Cait Byrnes a Wellness Coach
I’m so grateful to be self-employed, which allows me to be super flexible with my schedule. So I can get my self-care in when I need it (i.e. take a nap), help my family, catch up with a friend, whatever!

So here’s my typical day:
6:00AM – Dog wakes Human. Human makes coffee while Dog goes outside. Human downs a glass of water before downing the coffee.
6:30AM – Breakfast typically consists of roasted sweet potato (which I make in batches over the weekend), half an avocado, and two eggs. I have a bad habit of checking my email while I eat.
7:15AM – I usually sit down at the computer to get a few hours of work done, like scheduling client calls and social media posts, writing newsletters and blog posts, editing images for my website, etc.
9:15AM – Workout time! I’m in the middle of Couch To 5K, so right now I typically do about 30 minutes of running followed by a tonnnnnn of stretching.
10:30AM – Shower, then I head out to run any errands that need to happen like grocery shopping or the post office, or if it’s nice out I’ll go out and do some gardening and skip the shower till after.
12:00PM – Lunch! I’m a huge fan of mason jar salads in the spring and summer, especially since I can make a bunch of them over the weekend and have them ready for the week. My favorite combo is roasted chicken, carrots, celery, red onion, avocado, and spinach with a homemade dressing (olive oil, apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper!)
1:00PM – One more cup of coffee, then back to work for a few hours! This is the time where I usually work on any special projects going on, like getting things ready for my group coaching program FRAZZLED TO FIERCE (Get on the waitlist here!) or promoting my Food and Mood Journal.
5:00PM – Dinner! I love to eat dinner super early so I’m ready for my client calls by 6. Our go to lately has been chicken thighs (seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic and turmeric) with a ton of roasted broccoli and mushrooms.
6:00PM – I schedule most of my client coaching calls around this time, so folks have a chance to get home and wind down a bit after work before we jump on. This is easily one of my favorite parts of the day; the women I work with are so incredible, and it’s so inspiring to see them making changes in their lives that allow them to totally thrive!
8:00 – Take the dog for a walk around the neighborhood.
9:00 – Bed! I love to read in bed for an hour or so before I fall asleep (right now I’m in the middle of “Get Rich Lucky Bitch”), so I am super mindful to put myself to bed early. Sleep is extremely important for me (and everyone) so I make it a huge priority!
As much as I love to keep to this schedule, everyday brings new challenges and projects, so I always try to be flexible and go with the flow (which is tough for this textbook Capricorn.)
What does your ideal day look like? How do you fit in your self-care?
